In Helsingborg they have opened a combined elderly/youngster home, so called social home.

The idea is for the elderly and young people to socialize more and take advantage of each other, to have a tea/coffe time, to go out to the movies or take a walk together. 31 apartments are saved for the elderly who are 70 or older and 20 apartments are for the young who are 25 or younger. The apartments are mixed so old and young live on every level. They will share the kitchen and the socializing areas like tv/hobby/living room. There will also be a gym, media room, library and a restaurant. It is mandatory for the youngsters to socialize at least 2 hours/week with the elderly. There will also be mandatory to attend at every Monday meeting where the weekly activities will be planned.
