Exciting Opportunities Await You as a Breast Imaging Radiologist
Description of the department
The mammography department provides residents of this coastal region with access to high-quality breast diagnostics in two key cities. The department employs 13 staff across various categories, such as radiologists, radiographers and registered nurses, as well as a medical secretary. The department performs approximately 25,000 examinations each year: mammography screenings and clinical examinations.
The mammography department is part of the radiology clinic and operates across the region; the clinical practice where you will work is based in the region’s largest city and hospital. Health checks are also conducted at the region’s second-largest hospital. The workplace is characterized by a positive atmosphere, strong team spirit, and collaboration, where colleagues support and help one another. There is a strong emphasis on professional development, and the hospital offers excellent opportunities to build your competence within your medical specialty.
As a specialist physician recruited from abroad, you will receive an induction during your first term and a mentor to support you. Your competencies will be assessed, and you will receive training in areas where there are skill gaps. The working environment is important to us, and we strive for a healthy work–life balance.
Regular wellness activities are therefore part of the routine, and there is rarely a shortage of coffee breaks, the so-called "Fika"!
Job description and requirements
We are now seeking a thoracic radiologist for our department at the region’s central hospital. As a breast radiologist, you will be responsible for independently assessing clinical patients using, for example, tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and various types of biopsies, including stereotactic and tomosynthesis-guided vacuum-assisted biopsies. You will also perform preoperative localization of tumors, lead or participate in multidisciplinary conferences, and supervise resident physicians. The hospital is also pleased that breast MRI can now be performed in this region and therefore values MRI expertise among applicants.
You will have extensive patient contact and collaborate with other staff involved in the breast care pathway. Your closest colleagues will include thoracic radiologists, radiographers/registered nurses, and an administrative secretary. Since you will work closely with your colleagues, it is important to us that you have strong collaboration skills.
