Requirements for this assignment:
We know that in many EU countries, many ophthalmologists work in mixed clinics for children and adults. We are therefore looking for an ophthalmologist with experience working with children. This position will involve a substantial focus on pediatric care. Surgical duties can be included if there is interest or prior experience.
Licensed physician who is a specialist/consultant in ophthalmology with experience in pediatric ophthalmology. Swedish C1 will be required at the start of employment at the hospital.
Several years of professional experience in pediatric ophthalmology.
Competence in strabismus surgery is also considered a strong plus.
Solid theoretical knowledge in pediatric ophthalmology and at least the foundation required for specialist certification.
A strong commitment to development and an interest in the medical field are important.
If you are active in research or LEAN management, it is a merit.
About the workplace
This ophthalmology clinic is the county hospital in the region. At the eye clinic, we offer scheduled and emergency eye care and treatment to individuals with eye problems or eye diseases, as well as to those in need of advanced ophthalmic care. You can come to us via a referral from an optician, a general practitioner, or another specialist physician. We focus on ophthalmic care. There are several areas within ophthalmology that include, but are not limited to:
Glaucoma
Cataract
Macular degeneration
Diabetic retinopathy
Corneal diseases
Eye inflammations
Extraocular muscle disorders
Eyelid disorders
Visual impairment and neuro-ophthalmology
Terms of employment
This region applies individual salary setting. It is based on experience, age, and your education.
On-call duties occur on weekends and evenings, but not during daytime hours.
A specialist physician typically starts between SEK 65,000 and 75,000 per month before tax. As a consultant, you can earn anywhere between SEK 75,000 and 100,000 per month depending on experience, education, and age. These salaries apply provided the person is not a brand-new specialist or consultant.
