Language requirements medical Swedish

To work in Swedish healthcare, you need to know Swedish at C1 level

Through Lireco you get access to an intensive language course with a focus on medical terminology, patient communication and cultural understanding. The course is adapted for healthcare professionals and concludes with a certification exam.

Credentials & eligibility

To work in Sweden you need to have:

  • Approved education within an EU country, or at least three years of professional experience within the EU
  • C1 level in Swedish (Swedex or equivalent)
  • Application to the National Board of Health and Welfare for Swedish identification
