ABOUT THE POSITION

Welcome to the Department of Clinical Physiology at the University Hospital – the sole provider of nuclear medicine diagnostics in the entire Region!

As a specialist physician in nuclear medicine and PET/CT, you will be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team within the Heart Centre, with close collaboration with the Department of Radiology, Medical Radiation Physics, and the university. The department has recently expanded its capacity with a new PET/CT scanner and offers a dynamic, academic environment with ample opportunities for research and method development.

We are looking for someone who
  • Is a specialist physician in nuclear medicine with experience in PET/CT and SPECT-CT
  • Has clinical experience in supervising and interpreting examinations as well as providing reports
  • Has experience in interpreting full-body CT scans
  • Has knowledge of myocardial scintigraphy, SPECT-CT, and PET/CT
  • Has a research interest – publications within nuclear medicine/PET/CT are a merit
  • Is interested in teaching and supervising students and resident physicians
  • Has good cooperation skills and strong communication skills
  • Holds a medical degree from the EU/EEA
  • Is willing to learn Swedish (we offer free language training!)

About the workplace:
The Department of Clinical Physiology at the University Hospital is part of the Heart Centre, along with cardiology, thoracic surgery, and thoracic anaesthesia. The Nuclear Medicine-PET/CT team collaborates closely with the Department of Radiology on PET/CT in oncology, as well as with Medical Radiation Physics and the cyclotron. The department covers the need for nuclear medicine diagnostics for the entire Southeast Healthcare Region. In 2025, PET/CT operations were expanded to include cardiac examinations. With the new PET/CT scanner, brain diagnostics and inflammation diagnostics are now also being developed. The team consists of physicians, biomedical scientists (BMA), nurses, assistant nurses, hospital physicists, and engineers.
